Another Dumb Newbee Question...

Can the MR 8 HD be hooked directly into a stand alone CD burner (Via USB) rather than uploading to your computer then burning the songs on the card????

It would depend on what you mean by the phrase "stand alone CD burner."
If you mean an external CD writer drive for a computer, I think the answer would be no since the Fostex would not have the drivers to control the CD writer.
If you mean a CD recorder (like an audio tape deck on recording to CDs), I don't believe they come with a USB connection. They do however have a connection labeled S/PDIF (for Sony/Phillips Digital InterFace). I'm not familiar with the MR8HD, but the VF-80 has the S/PDIF connection and I have used it for mastering from the VF-80 to a Pioneer CD-Recorder. If the Fostex unit you are using has the S/PDIF connection, you can use this with a CD-Recorder.
Hope this helps.

Yes, the MR8 HD has a USB HOST connection that works with some CD burners. I think there is a thread on compatible CD burners on the fostex users forum - accessible from the fostex website support tab.

I stand corrected. Serves me right for responding before checking out the manual.
