blue blueberry for vox/acoustic guitar

I am a pop based musician, I record mainly female vocals. I am going for that kelly clarkson, michelle branch, cheyenne kimball type stuff. I am heavy with acoustic guitar and vocals, since I will use different mics for drum, bass etc.., do you guys feel a blueberry would be a good choice for this application(acoustic guitar and bubblegum teenager female vocals)? I am thinking since this mic is tailored more twards bright, high end, It will do perfect. Perhaps there is another mic in the same price range That would be obviously better for such an application? Any input would be appriciated. on the flipside, I am also looking for a mic suited for pop-like male vocals(rob thomas, john rzeznik, five times august, jonathan clay) witch is by far not as important as a female vocal mic, but input on a mic for that would be appriciated would be appreciated.

I just posted in the other Blue thread. I love my Blueberry on many vocals, and on acoustic guitars that are not to boomy or boxy already. The Blueberry works wonderfully on acoustics that already sound a little thin. It helps them out in just the right way, at least according to my preferences.

If the mic you are going to buy is primarily going to be used on female vox / acoustic guitar I'd check out a Blue Dragonfly. The DF is killer on acoustic and also is very good on most female vox IMHO. You didn't mention what mic pre you have so what I posted above is based on you having a decent pre. Good luck.

dragonfly huh? I figured since the blueberry was tailored twards bright, it would be the one though I am sure they both work great, I will either be using a blue robbie, universal audio solo/610, or a brick for a preamp. I didnt know the midrange featured on the dragonfly was a plus for female vocals

i too just posted on the other blue thread. for what you want to do, i believe the blueberry would be better. i've owned both mics. the blueberry is be a lot nicer on a female vocal in that it will be bright, but not harsh...which the dragonfly can be on the wrong voice. the blueberry is a lot more airy and i think will work GREAT on the kind of stuff you want to do. the dragonfly however IMHO is much better on acoustic guitar. it's got the kinda sound that will help it be powerful and present for an acoustic. both mics definately servce there purpose...but i think for a jack of all trades, the blueberry will give you a better comprimise overall.
