MXL V69me or CAD M9?

Hey gang,

Just looking for some opinions on tube mics. I'm thinking about buying one of these - the MXL V69me or the CAD M9, as another flavour for vocals and/or acoustic instruments. I don't currently have a tube mic in my locker. Which would you go for as your first tube mic? Both seem to come highly recommended. Any other suggestions, as always, are welcome.

Thanks!

- Jon M

I am selling my CAD M9 if you choose to go that route.
It is a bright sounding tube mic but not sizzly bright like the Studio Projects C3.
If you use the search function, I believe you will find more positive comments about the M9.
The M9 also provides a nice balance across the spectrum with some nice bottom end as well.
I'd suggest you go to each resepctive website, look at the frequency pattern charts as well as read the reviews provided for each mic.

I considered both of thses...i ended up with the CAD...wanna know why...cause thats the first one i could get for under 200 bucks on ebay...i really was stuck between picking the two...ive heard the v69 is "darker" and the CAD is "brighter"...find a good deal and get either I think youll be happy with both.
