Explain please
What the hell is "track freezing" for? Does is just lock the track down so it can't be dragged?

hmm, thats what seems to be implied (not that i truly know either).
--- Why does the n-track section of the forum seem so dead? (maybe there should be a reaper section in the forums too {or instead !}?)

Track freezing is similar to a mixdown, but for a single track. IOW, if your computer starts to reach it's cpu limit, then freezing a track will mixdown that track as to free-up resources being used by the VSTs on that track.
In summary, it's sole purpose is to free cpu cylces.

Yup! It just applies the plugins on that track to a file. Then it disables the plugins and just plays back that file. That way you don't have to run 163 compressor and EQ plugins all at once.

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!!! (light goes on)
Is there a way to lock tracks so cutting and pasting is easier. Lets say I've tracked the drums in 2 or 3 takes and want to splice into where there are screw-ups. I can copy and paste, but what if the overhead track is out of phase with my paste for the toms?

Ctrl-Left Click (hold) and drag your track until it's in phase. You'll want to zoom in as far as you can.
You can also drag track parts to other tracks. It's kinda like a punch-in, but better.

You really are the best
For all you smart folks using N-Track-----You are using the best recording tool ever invented. Ive been doing this for 30 years and have used 99% of all tools and have never and I mean never heard such wonderful sound, I work with nothing else and have never needed too. N-Track has evry thing you will need to make the best recording. Just listen to a Acoustic instrument in LIVE mode and compare it to other tools. See for your self!!!
