Amp distorts badly when reverb on - ???

I have a Rectoverb head, and when I turn the reverb on - the signal gets nasty and distorted. Would that be a tube? Is there a reverb tube in these things? What else could that be?

Almost all of the tube amps I have seen, that have a reverb circuit, use a tube driven circuit.

Usually a 12AT7 is used,...... I have many if you need one,.....

No problem changing those,.....and the distortion is quite possibly caused by a bad tube in that circuit.

yeah may be a tube but its generally on the recovery side... ithink most boogies use a ax but at or au may acually sound better ( though not as much gain)
