room treatment..

im recording rap vocals from my bedroom...and i think it is time to treat it...

i wanted to record in my closet, but ist a mirror closet, and its tiny..so i think this would be the best way

should i just get absorbtion panals and put them all over my walls or what? i dont know much about this but i want to keep it on the cheaper side...any ideas? thanks guys

Room treatment is so critical...I even noticed a difference building myself a tent underneath a table using couch pillows and blankets. It's not easy to leave that crap set-up should you share you living space with your significant other. However, now I know that it's worth treating a room, even using basic techniques, you can find lots of tricks for every kind of budget and desired quality if you look on the net. Here's one link that's helped me understand a little more.

I just went through this. See post at:

My room post

Sounds like we have a lot of the same limitations, re. non-permanent, low budget, etc.

From what I've seen around this site, some kind of bass traps seem to be the first and biggest need, along with a good (symmetrical) system layout. I've got that handled now and has made a HUGE improvement. Most everything else appears to be more fine tuning.

Good luck with it!
