Homebrew Electronics Power Screamer

Homebrew Electronics Power Screamer

Uses a JRC4558D chip like in the Ibanez Tube Screamer.

Unit has a 3 way switch for changing the diodes.
This gives sounds like a Tube Screamer (but without the midrange hump and with more clarity), a Boss SD-1, and something that is a bit different, than either.

There is also a boost switch, which also adds highs for cutting through during solos.

Altogether there are 6 distinct overdrive tones.

I modified the gain control using an audio taper pot, as suggested by the maker. Now there is a more gradual increase in gain across the entire range of gain, which allows greater control.

In very good condition, although there are two very tiny paint chips (beauty marks )that you can see in the picture. One is near the top rioght hand side, the other is near the on-off switch on the right hand side.

It was difficult to photograph the pedal because it has a red metal flake type paint job. The metal flakes make it look a bit funny.

Harmony Central Power Screamer
