Direct monitoring w/ Cool Edit
I am currently using Acoustica Mixcraft as my recording software, but have not been able to figure out how to use Direct Monitoring with it. Latency in my set-up is a problem, and I am thinking about switching to Cool Edit Pro 2.0. Can anyone tell me if this allows me to do Direct Monitoring? (I use Tascam 122).
Thanks, E |

What do you mean by direct monitoring?
Cool Edit and Audition allow you to hear what's happening as you're recording, as you're playing back, or as you're playing back while you're recording a new track. I can't think of anything more direct than that. |

Adobe Audition 2.0 (which is a very different and newer version from CEP 2.0) has ASIO support, if that's what he's asking. With the old versions you could not for instance record guitars with NI Guitar Rig or something, because there is too much latency with WDM mode drivers.

Yes, Audobie Audition 2.0 does support direct monitoring.
I do not know if any version of CEP supports it. |
