effect question???

I just wanted to know if anyone here knows how to do the effect of bringing a part of the song into like a slow motion stop. As if the music is on a vinal and you slowly slow it down and bring it to a complete stop. I love that effect but i dont know what is done to achieve it does anyone know???
Thanks
Josh

maybe use pitch vst or slow downer speed uppter(if there is such a thing) along with automation in your software.

Can anyone relate?

yeah...i imagine you could find a sample or make your own of a needle coming of a record in the fashion that you want, with an automated speed plugin that quickly slows down until the sample plays
