The motif rack the the rack version of the Motif ES, hence, it is as later version of Motif from ther Motif 6. It has all the sounds of the ES, but no sampling or sequencing.

I would go for the Motif ES Rack before the Motif 6.

what's nuts to me is you can cop a mo6 for the price of the rack. if you don't need the sampler and don't plan to expand the mo6 has a scaled back es engine in it and the sequencer. so you get the sounds with some keys and a nice sequncer with some tricks to it. i think it's a pretty dope add on piece.

you whatever you decide on then shoot me a pm cuz i might can help you when youare ready to cop something.

As I said, I'd get the rack. Better, newer sounds. Newer engine. I have other samplers/DAW sampling and sequencing, so the keyboard, sequencing and sampling capabilities are a non-issue for me. But it's your call. If you NEED these capabilities, then go with the motif 6.

On the other hand, if you want newer, (arguably) better sounds and a better engine, go with the Motif ES rack.

I think he neabt that both were the same price. If he meant that he wanted to buy both, then why the question in the first place?

the original (not the ES) rack supposedly has midi-timing problems.

Hmm, actually, I thought he read he was interested in the Motif rack ES. My bad.

I have been talking about the motif rack ES. The Motif Rack (non-ES) is the rack version of the Motif 8. If it were me, I'd pay a little more and get the Motif ES rack.
