Aux. Bus usage - Yamaha MG 16/4

I recently got an MG 16/4 and I'm wanting to use the two aux busses for two seperate effects, but I'm a bit confused. The aux sends are labelled 1 and 2 but the returns are labelled L (mono) and R.

For instance, I want to put an Alesis Microverb4 on aux bus 1 send, it has a mono in, but no labelled mono out. Can I use either out and still get the full signal or do I need a Y adapter to run both L and R outs from the microverb back to the return, or does it HAVE to be to both returns to effect the stereo signal?

The way the manual shows I use the mono in on the microverb and the L and R outs to both returns on the board, but then I can't use both busses seperately....maybe I'm thinking it can do something it can't?

What you have in the 16/4 are two mono aux sends and one stereo aux return. In essence, you don't have seperate returns for Aux1 and Aux 2, you just have a single stereo return that doesn't care where it's coming from.

Your Microverb will work fine from either Aux 1 or Aux 2, it's just a question of whether you want to send pre-fader or post-fader. Then return the stereo verb back via the L & R aux in just as labeled.

Thanks Glenn, my old board had mono sends and 2 stereo returns per bus. Guess I was just hoping to do something similar with this one, but I'll make due. Thanks for the input!
