Cool Band Names.....

What a hoot to have a couple of beers or whatever and sit around goofing on names for a band. Some personal faves that we actually used at one time or another:

Dain Brammage and the Youthful Offenders
Youthful Offenders
Offenders
UnkaChunka
Yo-Dada
Buzz Jones
Miasma (look it up!)
2HIP
Osborne Cool

Anybody got some to share

Cool Thanks and an Update.....

Thanks nylander and random....
Dain Brammage is a real person, as are Spam and Velveeta. Dain has been unable to perform for a couple of years now. to make a long story short, Dain was abusing prescription meds and anything else he could get into his system by any method that would do the job. Gigs had slowed down so we were playing anyplace that our manager could con into letting us play. So here we are in Farmer City Illinois, a real town, and cranking out our 3rd set material, you know, great tunes like "Vertical Hair and a Bad Attitude" , " You Sorry Fuck" and other originals. You gotta understand that Dain, by the 3rd set, is so far gone that he is oblivious to anything but his own internal mental processes. He can hear the drums and the lead guitar (me) but thats about it for him. So, like we're ending the set with our REALLYBIGLOUDANDEXCITINGSONG . Dain , with more than his usual abandon, does a swan into the moshpit. He is so toasted that he doesn't know that the bar is basically empty. He hit the floor face first, actually forehead first. The doc's said that he gave himself the medical equivalent of a frontal lobatomy. The wierd thing was that nobody but his closest friends could tell the difference. He has made a slow but steady recovery, and is expected to be able to feed himself , like maybe by 2009. In the winter, I think they said.
The bass players ( we have 2) (don't ask why) wants us to take him out and try a gig to see if he will respond to the sheer volume that we put out. The doc's are against it 'cause it took them a year to get him to stop the head flops. So anyway, the Youthful Offenders is prettymuch outabizness for now, and I am back touring with Spam and Velveeta, a classic blues act who are very dear old friends of mine and have been touring continuously, more or less, since 1954.

"People in the Wall" will almost certainly be misinterpreted (to great comic effect) by radio listeners as "Peephole in the Wall". I like it!

I like it, but it reminds me of that Terminex commercial with the people's faces that are in the walls. you know... "if you're house could talk, it would tell you that you're infested with termites."

However, that commercial will be forgotten about in a matter of weeks, but hopefully your band won't. I say keep it.

People in the wall sounds a bit new wave for a punk; maybe it would work for the alt/funk side of things.

Peepholes in the wall would be fine for a punk band.

Between those, you've got a keeper.

Talking

Don't ask anyone what they think of your band name , tell them "we are..."!!!

Most band names you disect sound like crap, the more you think about it the worse it becomes. It's the association that people remember, the music, as soon as people associate your music or your sound with your name, it just becomes a blurr, a mass of sylobols (i can't spell).

This band name = That Type Of Music.

The public don't care what your name is it's instantly forgetable, but they will remember the music (if it's good) then associate their enjoyment with your name. Simple.

The Beatles - Pretty Bad Name huh? Who thinks it's a bad name - Probably noone, they haven't thought about it.

Hope this helps
