im currently running cakewalk 9 and will be getting a lexicon soundcore 2 soundcard to run with my fostex vm200
via lightpipe but the lexicon soundcard dont have synth sounds so im going to get a jv1010 what would be the proper way to hook it up ? will it supply my sounds when i use the midi piano roll view in cakewalk? or should i get a midi controller keyboard or will it work either way? i want to get some good sounds and still be able to map out drums and bass in the cakewalk piano roll view. thanks. |

Hi,
Yes, the JV1010 will work either way , by putting in notes with a mouse, or by a midi keyboard. You sure about that Lexicon Card? I dont have one, but there are a LOT of unhappy campers out there who own one, so you might wanna ask some questions, because lots O folks are whining about the drivers with that card. Cheers David |

My understanding also is that the Lexicon isn't so hot.
For about the same price, you could use the MOTU-2408. And just dedicate 2 inputs of the MOTU for your JV-1010 |
