random question

in those huge studios you see those huge mixers. how do they get the mixer connected to their computers? i dont think its firewire or usb....

The most likely run out to a patch panel. From there they patch to a pile of convertors and the convertors most likely have ADAT or AES outs which go to a digital interface(s) in a computer. However, many studios with big PT rigs have very specialized computers. They aren't off the shelf Dells.
