Question Cd Duplicators

Question:

Does anyone know how to build a CD Duplicator? Or where there may be a web site with directions and/or information? I cant find any sites anywhere.

I have built over 2000 computers over the years, so it shouldnt be too hard to figure out and build one, but I was looking for some kind of starting direction.

Any help would be appreciated. I am sure one can be built (like a 5 target) cheaper then what they charge on the internet to buy them already built. Especially when I get top quality namd brand parts for basically OEM cost.

This wont be for making "mastered" quality CD's, but instead for maybe just Band Bar Demos that I record etc.

Anyone have any experience, input or direction?

Thanks and peace
AJ

You're sitting at one right now, just put in a few more drives.

Not exactly. With a regular computer I am restricted to the number of IDE plugs on the motherboard I have to use (usually 2, each with a master and slave on each belt).

And dont you need a special controller to burn from 1 CD to 4 or 5 at the same time?

With my computer, I can burn 1 at a time, sure, but I want the ability to burn several at the same time.

Peace

Let me know what ya'll figure out.

I called DELL computers to order a home computer that could burn (just two cds) simultaniously and they told me that it couldn't be done.
I know it has to be possible...I'm just waiting for one you with alot more savy to figure how it's done.

Carter YOU ROCK!!

I went to the Google link you suggested and BINGO!!!
Nobody I have talked to knew these "Duplicator Drives" even existed. I guess Dell can't build one because a Duplicator Mother board and a PC M.B are unable to communicate.
Have you put one of these together???? Can you use regular CD/RW drives???

I'm sure a normal controller could handle it just fine, with SCSI or even a PCI IDE card I'd bet it would handle writting to many drives

but, you say you've built over 2,000 computers and can't use google?

Oh well, good luck.
