Anyone compare Crown CM700 to 603 or C4?
Hi, Just curious if anyone has compared the Crown CM700 condensor to the newer SD Asian imports such as MXL, Studio Projects etc. on guitar or overheads. Thanks, Don

I did a demo at a friends house a while ago where he used the cm700 on drums. I really didn't like them at all, but pretty much his whole chain is about 10 years old and it definitly showed. They are a bit pricier then the others, right? I wouldn't take my suggestion very seriously, but you'd probably be better off with the newer, wallet-friendly options.

The Crown is definitely less hyped. More along the lines of the Oktava MC012, only a little more open.
As drum overheads, I think they beat out the Asian import mics you're refering to, in most instances. Maybe not so much on other things, as they do tend to have some issues with self-noise. . |
