I want to replace the strings on my acoustic bass.
Any suggestions. I am thinking of

La Bella Black tape wound acoustic bass strings or Fender 9120 Nylon Tapewound Bass Strings

Or should I go with bronze or nickel-plated strings?

I'd go with the bronze....the tape wounds are way too dead for my tastes....but that's just me.

Are you backing up acoustic instruments where you are simulating an upright bass or backing thinline acoustics with piezo pickups? I would say tape wound for the acoustic instruments and brass for the thinlines. I play in a folk/ bluegrass/ blues band and the upright bass sound is a perfect compliment to our sound.

I have nickel-plated strings on it now and I get too much string and fret noise from the piezo pickup. That's why I was thinking tape wounds.
