Red face Fostex R8 vs. Fostex 80

Could anyone tell me what the difference is? Which one is better, or newer model? If I'm not mistaken, both are 8 track, 15ips only, 1/4", with 7" reels.

From what I understand: The R8 is the newer one, with a detachable remote control panel on the front and a handle that enables it to be carried around. It can also be synced via MIDI using the MTC-1, sometimes factory-fitted, I do believe.

That's what I thought, Thanks!
