Takstar Pcm-6100

Are these good oversheads for drums? mainly to pick up the cymbals-the toms will be close miced

Like most anyone else will recommend, try and get a pair of MXL 603s! The 603s are worth every penny, and a pair can be had for around 140 bucks used. I've never heard of these Takstar 6100's, but I checked them out. For a few dollars more, you could have MUCH better mics. Also, if you're really strapped for money, look for some JoeMeek jm27 SDC's. They aren't bad, and can be found for around 70 bucks each.

Get these:

This is a pair, BTW

...almost as good as (if not the same as) the 603s. Guaranteed they will be better than the Takstars, which are OEM'd by Sampson and Superlux and a few generic labels.
