I was told that fostex did a 15 ips e16 deck and a 30ips deck, can anyone shed some light on this for me.Also i am selling my tascam tsr8 as i need 16 tracks but not sure what deck to go for.Anybody have any experience with the fostex b16,i know they are older than the e16.
cheers for any help with the above

hmm...

I think the E-22 can do two speeds....the e-16 might also?? there is a guy on here who has two of them..hopefully he will chime in...if not I will PM you with his name so you can contact him directly. I might be interested in purchasing your TSR-8 when you are ready to sell it. just PM me.

edit - I just looked in the manual and it doesn't say anything about 30 ips.....but maybe??

There were factory-modded machines that would do 30ips, both E16 and B16 I think. The B16 may have been designated 'B16D'
