ye olde sm57 for kick

anybody still using an sm57 for kick drum and happy with it?
anybody moved on to greater things but still go back to a 57 for a particular sound, or once you move on you dont go back.
I went to buy a kick mike recently and the sales guy told me that the d112 was a good mike but that it was 'kind of a dated sound'.... just wondering if the 57 is considered to be 'kinda dated' as well in these here circles

Let me guess....Guitar Center? The D112 is very good for kick. I wouldn't call it dated at all. Either way, I would take it over a 57 for a kick mic if I had the choice.

no, actually it was a store up here in canada. It surprised me as I know the d112 is very highly regarded on this site , highest rating on the kick mike poll actually.
