Tascam 244
Some antique shop near where I live is selling one of these for AU$250. Is that a complete ripoff or are they 'so old they're worth something again'?

The 244 IS most definitely an analog recorder so I don't see a problem posting here.
The 244 in your shop is equivalent to approx $180 USD so this may or may not be a good price depending greatly on the recorder's condition. If it's very well used and looks it then that's too much. If it's clean and looks hardly used then I think that's a fair price, especially that it's local pickup. A manual + box would further better the deal. Make sure to check it out thoroughly first. ![]() Hint: no matter how good a condition the 244 is in, it may need a belt change which is normal and pretty painless. |
