problem wit my keyboard hooked to boss sp-303

alrite, so i hav my keyboard plugged into my boss sp-303 correctly and evrything (midi in from sampler to midi out at keyboard) but wen i play my keys nothing happens. ive tried pressing the ext. source button that didnt work. ive tried to record little samples of keys i play, and nothing happens. i tried all the diff combinations of banks on my keyboard (im almost positive) and it jus changes from a controller of the sampler to nothing. so yea, i wanna play my notes and record it on my sampler. anybody know or think they know wut im doin wrong. i cheked the manual and i did wut it sed. im gonna chek agin tomorrow anyway, but if anyone could help that would be cool.

Check your manual for the SP-303 to make sure you have everything enabled to allow it be used as a sound source.

Speaking of sound, you need to get the sound from the SP-303, not just the MIDI.

You can't sample midi, and even if you could you have it hooked up backwards. Maybe that's what MadTiger was trying to say...

Try plugging the AUDIO outs from your keyboard into the AUDIO ins of the SP-303, then activating sampling on the SP-303, then play whatever you want to sample.

if you want to sample sound from your keyboard you would take the headphone output then run that into the audio input of the sampler. taking into consideration that the headphone out is stereo. If you would like to maintain that stereo sample you would need a y cord with 1/4 stereo (TRS) or 1/8" whatever the phone out is. Then that would y out into 2 -1/4"jacks mono (ts) or rca depending on what the 303 has.
