Sonar 4 HS?

There's no way I'll be able to afford Sonar 5 PE, so I was looking into Sonar 4 Home Studio.

I haven't heard much talk about them among these forums, do they lack quality or something?

Not at all. I could do almost everything on HS that I could in Sonar. Its a terrific program, and you can always trade up.

I too also used SHS4, and it is a great program. Functionally speaking, it is nearly identical to Sonar 4, with a few features from Sonar 5 (it came in between the two). What you miss out on are the FX and Soft-Synths that come with Producer Edition. Such as...Sonitus Suite, Perfect Space Reverb, and then a couple of soft synths. But...you can look around online for freeware FX and synths.

I too use SCHS4XL and love it. I don't know how it compares to other CW software but there are tons of options and you can find countless free plugins to use.
