Peace Train
out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again Now I've been smiling lately, thinking about the good things to come And I believe it could be, something good has begun Oh peace train sounding louder Glide on the peace train Come on now peace train Yes, peace train holy roller Everyone jump upon the peace train Come on now peace train ... ![]()

Yeah, the Vbulletin software can be set up in so many ways. I think that means the person who gave you rep, either had negative rep (all red) or that he had no points outside the cave. So black is neutral, and I’m not sure you can always tell if it would have been good or bad rep.
Also, if the program is set to monitor MAC or IP addresses and someone tries to hit you with rep (bad or good) from two accounts from the same PC, then the second will show black and won’t count. Also, new members with under so many posts and no points may not be able to leave a rep that counts. It’s fun to dig into the Vbullitin info on the web and study the tools they’ve designed to study us, and how we build or break these little cyber societies. We’re being studied, you can bet on that. We get a free message board and they get free participants. VBulletin is everywhere in every imaginable hobby and interest. It’s a great marketing research tool and behavioral studies tool as well. Someone out there wants to know how low we can go if we think we can get away with it. IMO, the way we treat people here is a good indicator of what our generation will do with the world -- save it or destroy it. I've been thinking about stuff like this a lot lately. ![]()

The problems will begin when the results of their "studies" will be implicated into educational programs to be studied. Then we'll be screwed ... or are we already? ![]() |

Things just seem so much more complex since I ran a 14.4k BBS on Maximus behind Binkleyterm 10 years ago

You can't let life keep you down.
Whether it's cancer, celiac disease, mercury poisoning, leukemia, arthritis, heart attacks, people giving you a hard time on the board... There's always gonna be something. -MD |
