Mac not talking to DT Express II
I have a Boss DR770 (drum machine) and a Yamaha DT Express II (electronic kit) hooked up to Logic 7.2 (G5 Mac) via the midi ports on a MOTU 828 mk II (I have double checked the connections). I have gone through the manuals of both bits of kit and as far as I can see I have them configured properly to send and receive external midi data.
I have the DR770 set to Ch7 and the DTX set to Ch4 (Ch10 for prog change messages). I can record Midi from both devices (on the aforementioned channels) but only play-back using the DR770 (using the native external tone generators which are both hooked up to a desk. Any ideas how I can trouble shoot this and get the DTX and the DR770 to play back independently ? The only other odd think I noticed is the color of the meters to the left of the mute buttons. The DR770 is red and the DTX looks the same orange color as the regular audio meters. Any ideas folks ? Thanks Simon
