help me decide
I'm looking at two cheapo powered mixers, used, and am torn to pieces trying to decide which to get;
Also I have no valuable knowledge as to what it all means (in the mixing monitoring world). A) Peavey MP-4 B) Crate PA-4 (50$ less) I believe they are both rated at 60 Watts 4 ohms... Probably more to the point this will be used to power my vocals through a Fender floor monitor (100 Watts 8 Ohms) so am I going to have trouble with this (ie not enuff juice to pound the sound thru?) Im not worried about awesome sound here, I just want to hear myself at our jam/rehearsals, currently I'm micing thru a wee feedback monster of a practise guitar amp... Any thoughts and input is greatly appreciated. |

If you don't care about the Fender box, then pick either one. The low (under) wattage is guaranteed to fry your Fender box in a couple of months, especially if your band is loud.
If you just want a momentary solution, go for it. And save to invest in a good PA in a year or so. |
