well, I mean I can program a bot to do this, but after you add 50 friends, there's a security code (which can be bypassed - I just haven't figured that part out).

All these programs have the captcha bypass.

I can make an application that automatically adds friends on MySpace. However, MySpace has a way to detect when it's a computer instead of a human, because after you add 50 friends it gives you a code you have to type in (this is called "captcha"). Some programs (that you have to pay for) have a way to bypass captcha. I used the programming language VB .NET Express.

What's the point in having friends that a bot got for you? Doesnt it defeat the purpose of making friends?

Oh ok. Well in the very nicest possible way (and because this IS HR.com) I think you should put a little more time into your band's mixes before you start pimping them out to complete strangers! Your songs and tunes are good but they kinda sound like home recordings ... do something with the vocals to give them a 'sound' that fits the voice and you'll be most of the way there.

Oh, and send me that application when you have a minute.

Peace,

Nik

I agree. That's why I'm not really spending time doing that. Our next EP will sound at least 20 times better than the last CD. I have spent time working on capturing the source better, so the mixes are better. I do kind of like the lo-fi, home recorded sound of the last one - reminds me of early Of Montreal or even early Beatles. If you want it, I'll release the source code of the program, then maybe someone else can work on it.

Glad you didn't take offence!! It sounds kinda like early Switchfoot or Pavement.

The source code isn't worth much to me cos I know nuttin about VB/.Net/anything else for that matter.

Yeah, the voice is unique. Find something to fit it better. GRN, are you the singer? Whomever it is, may I suggest some vocal coaching? There are a few times the singer is off key.

That's what I meant. The style is subjective, I quite like it. The sound at the moment is too up-front ... it sounds like a vocal laid over a backing track (much like Joss Stone's first album where they are so desperate to showcase the singing that the mix ends up totally wrong).

I would be interested in a HPF to stop it taking up so much space too. But listen to a Rufus CD and see what you can glean from it.

thank you for loving my voice? wow.

once again, noisedude is correct... that's how the vocals were laid down. we did our instruments first, then I laid vocals down on top of the backing track created from that. I believe we did a better job this time around.

on the last CD there is so many things I could now go back and fix, but I'm sure everyone could do that with their first albums. actually there is a lot I could go back and fix (I'd turn my distortion WAY down and make sure I got the exact sounds I wanted). however, I have learned a lot more - thanks to these boards and people like noisedude!

No worries Mr GRN. I sing in a band, and I'd give away one of my kids to sing like you.
