comback kid backup vocals

does any have any suggestions on how to get those huge comback kid sounding gang vocals? im working for a band with some backups and i really want them to sound awesome. if you guys have any ideas or techniques that you often use, they would be greatly appreciated.

yeh, basically get a gang of people together and have them all do the part at the same time. set up 2 stereo mics to get the groupe sound.

if you want a "tighter" sound, try an X/Y config, if not, used a space pair..




OR


if you want just 1 person's voice, but multiple time, get the person to do the part multiple times, probably at least 5 or 6 times (number of times depends on how big a "gang" you want).

or.......get a gang of people together and record them with one mic 2 or 3 times. That will also make it sound big with just enough time delay to make it sound real....not like you tracked the same take on two tracks. Good Luck!!!
