Exclamation Help No Sound2

PLEASE help.... i just got cakewalk sonar4 on my laptop and there is no sound. i tried everything possible and still no sound. There is another problem and that is that no midi imput devices show up... shouldnt it detect my soundcard? and should i be able to use my soundcard for playback???

Please define what, "i just got cakewalk sonar4 on my laptop" and "i tried everything possible", actually means.

If we know more about the laptop, your process and your troubleshooting issues we would be able to help more appropriately. With the information you have supplied, I could only point you towards page 641 of the manual...

It depends. Does your sound card have a built-in midi synthesizer? I'm guessing it does not.

Don't worry, however, it's not the end of the world. With Sonar 4 you can use DXi's (software synths) to play back your midi tracks. IMHO, these are better than most synths built into sound cards anyway. There is one general midi DXi supplied with Sonar 4 - the TTS-1. That's a good starting place. Do a search of your help file for DXi for an explanation of how to use them.
