Few desk problems!

Hey there right i have recently bought a eurodesk UB1204FX Pro of ebay brand spanking new. With this i have a Firewire 410.

the problem im having is getting the mixing desk connected through the right channels into my firewire 410.

Then i would need to run this mixing desk through cubase and be able 2 control the channels with the 1s in cubase.

Sorry for sounding silly but it starting to bug me as my audio card is recieveing signal but my mixing desk isnt.

Thx

You're wanting to use the Eurodesk to control Cubase?

I'm no expert, but I don't think its capable of that.

You can't use that mixer to control any software, it's only for mixing analog signals going in or out of your computer... if you want something that actually controls the parameters in Cubase, you need a control surface, something like this http://www.behringer.com/BCF2000/index.cfm?lang=ENG
or this if you've got a bit more dough

Once again my cynicisim of "university" courses in the technical arts is proven correct... Go and get "real" degrees people!
Ahem. Sorry about that.

To get a signal to the 410, you've got to make sure that the mixer is actually outputting something through the "Alt 3-4".
Now, i'm not familiar with teh UB1204, but, according to the manual, you have to have the Mute switch in to actaully route a signal to the Alt buss. So, if you can't see any yellow lights, then you're not going to get any signal to the Alt 3-4 outputs.
This may seem a little counter-intuivite, but it's a micro-format mixer, and a budget one at that, so you've got to expect some trade offs in the functionality department.

Also, make sure that the Alt 3-4 faders are up- the Main Mix faders don't effect the Alt mix buss.

Hope this helps, let us know what happens.
