I'm going nuts here. According to Musician's Friend, the Fostex VF-08 has 3 band EQ on all 8 tracks. According to the Fostex website, it has 2 band EQ on channels 1-6. Can someone explain this to me? I also need to know how many tracks it will record at once. I know this is a Fostex forum but I was wondering how the Tascam 788 stacks up against the Fostex. It's about $200 higher. I bought 3 Tascam 424 MK2's from Musicians Friend a couple of years ago and had to send them all back with the same problem...tracks 3 and 4 were dead. I wonder if they've improved their quality control. I would much prefer the Fostex if it is comparable to the Tascam.
