Need Help Choosing Production Program

Im looking for a quick-and-easy program that will allow me to make simple but good beats with... Nothing as complicated as Reason or nothing... Something like a virtual Roland or Yamaha sequencer/sampler.... maybe even a virtual MPC...

Anyone help me out?

Maybe not as simple as you'd like.. but it's free.. and much more powerful than you'd think... MUCH MORE

You can get free VST and VSTi plugs, use royalty free samples (maybe from magazines like Computer Music), and you'll be high flyin'...

Good luck... AND READ THAT MANUAL!!! Ask questions here.. I'll prolly be able to remember how that prog works pretty well... Also, most recording knowledge is universal, so all of us can help ya, really...

Thanks man.. i'll look into it...

Another question though. What if I wanted to seriously get into producing.. what good programs are out there that arent too complicated? I was looking at Sonar 5 Producers edition, can I make beats with that or is it just for recording? How about Fruity Loops, Cubase, etc.?

Can't go wrong with Fruity Loops or Reason...takes time and skill to learn but it's worth it.

I agree!

P.S. I did some diggin' on that program from my first post.. I can't find the download link on that site.. If you want to get it though.. Buy an issue of Computer Music magazine and it'll be on the dvd (most likely).... So it's not really free I guess... but near to it
