Talking

Yo Napoleon Solo:

Get your hand out of your vest!!!

I think you have to send it in. Seems to me that I wouldn't want to tackle that job; very fine electrical work and soldering and parts and etc. Yeah, man, let Yamaha do it and during the two weeks you are without your Yam, you can vocalize in the shower or write new tunes or make linguini with clam sauce.

Illya Hornet, oops,

I got carried away.

Talking surface mount

If it is surface mount components, you better not even try.The input opamp is probably the cause of the noise, but unless you have the tools, you better just send in to yamaha or warranty station.

Should I go to MD8 Annonymous?

I don't think I can live without the MD8 while it's under the knife! I know, I'll mix my newest 8 tunes down to DAT, and burn some CD's and listen to them! Maybe do some local promotion......N

Talking local

If you have a local warranty station for yamaha, then you may be able to get it done in one day
