Oxygen 8 and Reason 3.0
This really isn't what I would have chosen for my first post to be, but I am stuck and everyone here seems to be experienced in some sort of fashion, and the people in the M-audio and Propellerheads forum seemed to be unable to respond (although I asked quite some time ago... so not their fault)
I have an Oxygen 8 (the older model), but for some weird reason I can't get it to interface with Reason 3.0 on my desktop. I know this keyboard works, because I used it with Reason 2.5 and 3.0 on my Tablet PC for live shows and worship gigs, but I can't get it to interface with either version via the desktop. The desktop itself finds the keyboard, and recognizes it as M-Audio USB Keystation...So I figured I would uninstall and install Reason again, so I do. After it's done loading up all the banks it does the auto Audio scan and even finds that I have the Oxygen 8 (older model) and says it will use that as the default control surface. So I am thinking sweet, it's working! But then I load up various instruments and I can't seem to have control over anything. Any help here would be greatly appreciated! In Reason 3.04 the 'remote' features are spotty at best.
Even with a controller with enough knobs for everything (I have a BCR2000 tied to Reason) it still doesn't give you access to every single parameter. One example would be the Redrum - it only gives you control over the first eight channels leaving the last two begging. Until Propellerheads design and market their own controller --- which may never happen --- you'll just have to use a combination of the controller and the mouse, like all the rest of us. I have an old model Oxygen 8 too, and I got so frustrated trying to use is with Reason 3.04 that I gave up and tied it in elsewhere in my system.

It's not so much that things aren't working properly, it's just that things aren't working at all. For instance, if I load up the Subtractor I can't get any input single from the controller (the note on button never lights up), so I think something is just plain messed up somewhere

Are you routing the master to the instrument track? Its the little keyboard next to the corresponding instrument in the sequencer pane

There's a drop-down menu that shows itself when you do a right-click on, for instance, the Subtractor which allows you to "lock to Oxygen 8" --- have you tried this yet?

Still no luck, so I am taking an alternate route. I just got a new 60gb harddrive for my Motion M1400 so I will be dedicating that drive simply to reason and nothing else. I figure that with 1gb of ram should do some pretty good stuff for live shows and recording. Thanks for the responses anyway!
