i listened to the first beat. the beat is decent. i like it. u really need to consider the compression on the overall mix tho. use a faster release if u must have have the compression on the mix buss.

just listened to beat 2 also. u really need to lay off that mix compression. choose some better settings, or compress the tracks/instruments separately. the compression u're using on the mix is giving it that "pumping" sound. u need a faster release on the compressor if u're gonna use it on the master buss.

Sup. The 1st beat is okay. I agree with the gentlemen who posted that the compression is too much or what ever effect that is . is too much. also like the homies said to me you need to have some more changes in there to break up the monotany.

Thanks for the tips,I'm doing them on headphones and cheap speakers.I think I need practice mixing better.I'm new at compression too ,I was just glad to not hear any distortion.I need alot of better equiptment so I figure if I make good sounding music on my set up as it is when i do get better stuff I'll be way ahead .Thanks again cus y'all didnt have to say a word.

no problem, thats y forums like these r so cool. dont get discouraged about ur gear neither. i started out wit shit for equipment. the best thing is to learned how to fully utilize what u have until u can afford better equipment. also, u can learn a lot by mixing on cheap speakers, as long as u listen to commercial music thru them also to give u a sense of what is supposed to sound like what. lose the headphones for mixing too, it will never give u a preception of a complete mix or what a complete mix would sound like. good luck homie.
