Here's my situation. I have an FD8 with a 100mb Zip attached. I have a friend across the country who has an FD4 with a 250mb Zip. We'd like to exchange music, be able to add to each others tracks, etc. With these two setups, is this possible? So far, the one disk he sent to me, supposedly with four recorded tracks, produced nothing but noise on my FD8. He sent the material on a 100mb Zip disk that he formatted on his FD4. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks...

Cool

Kris,

Trying to think what it might be. I have an FD-4 and a VF-16 that I share files with on the same SCSI drive. I've never had a problem. Is his disk formatted in normal or a master mode? Also, if he figured he formatted it in the Fostex format but it didn't actually happen, it would stay in the DOS mode and would be garbage. After he saves, does he try to reload to see what he actally has on the zipdisk?
Just some food for thought...........
One last thing, does he have an internal hard drive? Could be actally saving to the drive and not the zip......
Later
Bruce

Thanks for the suggestions Bruce. I know for sure that he doesn't have an internal HD. It's possible that he formatted in mastering mode though. I'll forward your post to him and see what happens. Thanks again...
