Running Cubase VST /32.. Should I upgrade?

Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts.. I don't need any more tracks than what the VST/32 has. I was just wondering how much more comes with a newer Cubase setup.. I am just doing basic recording, Drum machine, bass, guitars, vocals.. Nothing crazy, but, need a little more compression and a little more clarity..

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

If you happy with your current setup, just stick to it. I've friends using old stuff but producing great mixes.

However, the new Cubase offers you tons of great features. New one better than the old one (am i right?).

Checklist for upgrading:

Does it work?

Does it do what you want it to do?

Are there any features the new product has that you can't live without?

That's how you make your decision....

Well, it's been working okay. for what I need. I just know that with most software., Something always works better with the newer version. I figured since the VST/32 is a couple years older, the SE or so would be better. I like the layout of the VST/32 and all, so , maybe I will just stick with it.. Thanks for the help.

Compared to my old 4-track recordings that I was listening too. And they WERE BRUTAL.. LOL.., The VST will suffice.. I did some 'live" recording the last two days. Just an acoustic, voice into a condensor mic through the 4track mixer , into my computer and it sounded decent, without really getting into the mix too much.. Well, decent enough for me.. I ain't recording for any special reason, just to get emotions out.. About it.. But, I think my main problem is I need to learn more about compression, limiters, etc.. All the good stuff.. So, have patience with me. I will search alot but, sometimes I may ask a dumb or already asked dumb queation.

Compression is important specially the MultiBand Compressor, but it kinda difficult to master. I'm learning as well. There was interesting thread about Multiband Compressor (MBC), check it here
