Building Skyline Diffuser

I've seen a lot of talk about building quadratic diffusers in the past, but I want to make a skyline one with random lengthed 1" or 2" sticks. My questions:

1" square inch or 2" square inch sticks? what would the advantages of each be, and maybe would it even be more effective to mix and match the two on a single panel?

someone please teach me that advanced primitive root formula deal so i can understand it. i dont even need to understand it, i just need to know what lengths to cut the sticks, then placement is random right? I'm a high schooler... the equations ive heard about it make absolutely no sense to me.

if someone could help me out, i'd appriciate it.

Kasey,

here you go - a couple of links to help you on your way:

http://www.pmerecords.com/Diffusor.cfm

http://forum.studiotips.com/download.php?id=463

The first one is a simple plan with layout - and the 2nd is a spreasheet you can customize with input data.

And NO - you cannot just randomly place the pieces - they have to be placed in correct order for it to work correctly.

Hope this helps,

Rod
