PreSonus Central Station vs. Mackie Big Knob vs. Anything Else?

im currently in the process of aquiring gear for the studio im building soon.

right now my plan for talkback is to run the headphone outs on my project mix I/O into a 2 channel mixer, plug a mic into the other input on the mixer and run the headphone output on the mixer into my live room

that seems like ity would do the trick... are there any other units like the central station or big knob that do the same basic job?

im only running one set of monitors without subwoofer... so i only really want the controller for talkback and to see my output levels

any help would be great

Sounds like what you plan on doing will work just fine. No need to spend $700+ for something that won't even do what you need to do!

Out of those two, i'd go for the PreSonus, for sure.
Or, theres the coleman and the SPL.

Your plan would work, but I think the Central Station rocks...especially if quality matters.
