Cleaning a mixer with tuner cleaner???
I recently received a used mackie 24 8bus that has some scratchy pots and faders. Does anyone know how to go about cleaning the gain pots and faders? I have been told TUNER CLEANER helps.

Use Deoxit for pots, and MCL for faders, or whatever the maker recommends. MCL= Moving Contact Lubricant. Faders need lube, most cleaners strip it off. Dry faders will self-destruct in a short time.

I ordered some deoxit. Do I just spray it on under the knobs?
Some of the channels of this mixer were scratchy and cutting out at times during a session the other day(nightmare!!!). Do you think cleaning will take care of that problem? |
