Angry Weird problem with Cubase playback

My Cubase (SX 3) has just started making weird buzzing sounds interrupting playback. If I increase latency the buzzing sound changes to crackles with higher intervals between them but I can no longer get smooth playback. Everything was working fine, until someone else installed Waves IR reverb pack or whatever its called. I thought that maybe all the sampled reverbs on my C: drive could have used up too much memory, but I checked and still had over 14 GB, and even after I removed the program the problem persisted. This is on a machine that has a 1.8 ghz processor and 512 MB of RAM. The system was working fine before and now I cannot figure out why this is happening. Any suggestions would be much appreciated as this is highly, highly, highly irritating.

thanks a lot

dan

Was it a cracked version of Waves? Uninstal it and see if the problem goes away.

Could it be the virus? or spyware? Probably it came with the 'Wave' programs. And the worst part is, it wont uninstall although you remove the host program. Install AVG or Adware to check the system, who knows it caused by virus. My 2 cents. Good luck.

I get crackles and stuff like that...but that's when i have had the program running for a long time with break intervals to go and roam the net and do other stuff while the program is running...but then i either save the project and quit and run the program again and if that doesn't do it then i just reboot....

I guess most of my crackles problem is based on programs grabbing a hold on ram and not letting it go when i exit.

Yes, crackles and problems like that are usually a sign of cracked software - not tha I'm suggesting anything here!. Cracked copies will often have spyware attached to them.

If it is a legit copy, probably best to contact Waves...

I love it when people install cracked software and have computer problems, no offense intended. Anyhow, buzzing problems are associated with grounding problems, poor shielding, etc. Sometimes flourescent lights will cause buzzzzes. I wouldn't be looking at software while hunting down a buzzz.
