Fabric question for wrapping 703 panels...

Well I found out on here the best material to use to wrap your panels is (1st) Polyester (2nd) Burlap (3rd) Muslin. Well as I went shopping for fabric today I came across a lot of 100% polyester fabrics. The problem is they were not at all near the same. Some were almost like silk feeling, some were like dress pants material, and yet some were very tough and actually called Canvas "something or other". Well since Muslin and Burlap seem to be very tough similar to canvas material I was thinking that I'd want the canvas type material.

I'm thinking as long as the fabric is breatheable it will be ok. Meaning that if you hold it on an angle you can see through the threads so its not a super tight weave etc.

My next question is can I just use some cotton fabric? Some cotton fabric was so similar to polyester in the way the threads were weaved together. Also, Polyester is so limited in designs from what I've seen. And some were like 80% Poly and 20% cotton. What about that? Some stuff seemed to let just as much air through as the next.

And not to mention that burlap has pretty big holes in it. So big ya could easily see the material behind it. So that doesn't help visually with me.

Anyone know of any places online that got good fabric? And also what kind of polyester is the best to get exactly? I'm thinking we want the rough canvas like stuff since its most similar to muslin and burlap but im not really sure. I want my panels to work as good as possible plus look good.

Whats the deal here? Anyone have any advice?

I think I would avoid using polyester. A) It's flammable and B) It doesn't breathe. right? I don't own any polyester clothes or anything... I also don't know why burlap is recommended. Maybe it means something different in europe? They're not talking about a potato bag I don't think. ?? I think you're good with the cotton. Isn't muslin simply a high-thread-count cotton? like bed sheets? I have no idea.

Yeah, now I'm more confused then. Anyone got any more suggestions now? What kind of material is best to use when wrapping 703 panels?

The burlap you need is like that which comes from the best pak company. It's sterilized to get rid of the "natural" smells and even colored to meet your decor desires. You can spray it down with flame retardent spray to avoid fire hazards. And it's not that pricey.

Sheer cotton fabrics are good. Any fabric that you can blow through and feel the air on the other side is a good fabric to use.

And how should i avoid particles of fiberglass from falling for the cloud and starting flying all over the place?

Curtain lining is pretty good. Fairly cheap too.

Cheap muslin is fine. I used hemp muslin. Looks great.

Who says polyester is best??? Stuff puts out toxic smoke when it burns. And it burns like a Roman Candle!
