Help!

This is my first post here. So, please, bare with me.

My band has a makeshift studio in my basement. I want to get the absolute best sound with what I have:

Yamaha MD4 Mixer
1 MDX Condenser
One other cartenoid condenser
Kick Mic (no clue of brand)
Necessary cables, mic preamps, stands, etc..

I REALLY want to make our CD sound amazing, and I really need help, because I know close to nothing.

PLEASE HELP ME!

Thank you so much.

Dude, that's like asking, "Tell me what an MBA knows! Quick!"

Read, read, read, use the search function.

You didn't even tell us what you're going to record on.

Thats the true

One topic cant have all the aswers. I recomend you go after especific subjects on the search function
Like recording voice, drums, mixing and anything about recording techiniques
The thing is that to acomplish a really good result take years of practice, a lot of mistakes, and a lot of books!
If you are trying to record like a demo or a promo album to send to labels and you wants to sounds really nice to impress, ask for a professional help, you dont need to look after a Phil Spector alike, just somebody that has the gear and the training to properly mix and record it. Take it like an investiment
If you really want something just for fun, just set up a basic position for your mics, press record buttom and there you have it
