Pop filters

Do you guys ever have a pop filter where the gooseneck just won't bend the way you want? What do you do to fix it?

What do you guys clip them on to? The mic stand or part of the mic?

Do you guys prefer the screens or the condom types?

I use a separate stand to place the pop filter. I also have the lowly artist get right up on the filter and use it as a guide for him for head placement. If I move it back a bit, when the idiot screams, the signal won't go red as quickly and I can lower the compressor attack.

I've taken them apart at the end that clamps to the stand. Cut off a piece of coat hanger wire to about the same lenth as the flex arm. Straighten it out and insert the wire. Put it back together and voila...you've got a stiffy

Did this on a cheapie NADY brand poop filter...works just fine now.

that's actually an interesting idea, will probably get them to loosen up too... what I did was I stole those nylon sock things they have when you don't have socks to wear at a shoe store... well they're free so I guess I didn't steal them... but I just took two, wrapped them over a close hanger I bended in to a circle, then I just bend it to adjust it however I want. works great, no more plosives, and free.
