Snake too long?

I've come across a great deal on a "stage snake". The only thing is, it's a 100' long. I've got snake cable run throughout the walls but nothing near this long. I'm thinking it would be nice to have this extra-long snake for the occassional backyard party/recording session.

Is 100' too long? I'm not going to use it for live audio amplification but rather just like the low level stuff as in a typical studio environment...you know mics and phantom power and headphones for monitoring -n- stuff.

Thanks

100ft is not too long. You can run mics signals 100ft with no problems. 300+ft may introduce problems.

100 foot should be fine. I've run them with phantom power with no problem. Like raw said...300 or so and you probably will notice issues with phantom power, etc.

BTW...

I wish I could complain about my snake being too long!
Although some ladies have said 'ouch, ouch' every now and then... but still

Mmmmmmmm, crack.

I'm using a 50' stage snake in my studio and it's fucking wonderful, it has 24 XLR ins and 4 TRS returns (perfect for headphones)...I'm in love with Jade Audio, well, that is until something goes wrong, which I'm sure will inevitably happen
