Using Midi as a control for cubase?

Hi i was wondering if i can set up my midi keyboard to control the transport bars functions on cubase or logic, this would be of tremendous help to me as it would enable me to start cubase running from another room, rather than fork out extra money on a controler....anybody got any expierence of what im on about?

midi devices and add a generic remote, from there you can map anything you want

Midi control

What do you mean by generic remote? Could I use my yamaha PSR 282 to control Cubase SX?

Yeah, it will allow you to map anything to just about anything

Look under midi devices, add, and generic remote will be an option which will pull up a map for all the controls. Then you can make changes. You should have a pretty good handle on midi controls though but feel free to ask if you have questions
