Mic selection advise needed
Just wanted to see what are the mics of choice everyone is using out there.
I was thinking of getting a 421 II. Any other suggestions for a nice thick sound from a 5150 II head (sometimes I use a digitech 2101 pre with a Hafler amp) and 4x12 Cab with vintage 30's. I was Thinking of recording my cab with 2 mics simultaneously ( an SM 57 and 421 II). Any comments, suggestions or criticism would be much appreciated. Cheers |

I've had great results using an SM57 to mic my 5150 and Marshall cab w/greenbacks, doubling the parts and panning them hard left and right. An SM57 close in and a condenser out in the sweet spot of the room yields nice results as well.
