record roland drums to PC throygh MIDI connectors
Helloz,
My case is probably very simple but i still need detailed instructions as i luck complete knowledge of sound recording. I have Roland TD-6KV drum set and i recently bought a soundblaster X-Fi Platinum card. All i want to do is record in some way what i play to a midi file through MIDI connectors (available I/O slots exist in both card and drum sound module). So if anyone could describe me the whole procedure i need to follow in terms of connectivity, settings to drum module etc i would really appreciate it... Bye for now... |

Got the one that came with the card and i am using it in the audio creation mode. Do i need 2 MIDI cables i.e. MIDI IN drums ->MIDI OUT PC and vice versa or just connect the O/P from the drums to the PC? I just want to make sure that i got this step right because i am a bit confused...

To record the midi signal you just need the output from the drum machine. To play it back you will need the input on the drum machine connect also. If you want to record the audio, you will need the audio out connected
