Help with Roland vs 1880

I have read reviews about how easy it is, so i pick one up because it was so cheap...the book is like a bible. I understand how to record and such on it, but can anybody tell me if it is easy to mix and master, does anybody know where i can listen to some music done COMPLETLY on a vs 1880 I am so confused ...all i want is a professional quality recording

I used an 1880 for 5 years, never had a problem...a very stable machine. The initial learning curve can be a little steep but once you get the hang of it you'll be fine. Mixing on it is pretty easy, just didn't like the linked channels when seperated. Is there something wrong with what you're recording? Is it not sounding right? Do you have FX cards installed?

Well i have some good/some crappy mics...what do you think i should mic a rock guitar amp with, i am using an sm 57 but would like some higher freq on them.....the recordings just down sound cd quality, can i master them to sound cd quality, and can i transfer my work so sombody else can master it...?

If this is your first plunge into homerecording what you just need to do is take time and experiment.The VS series is capable of making some great recordings but as with any recording medium it's the person using it that will have the greatest impact.

As far as your guitar sound,does the guitar sound bad in a mix,or just by itself?
Have you tried the EQ on the amp or the VS?

Yeah, i guess i just need to learn better...i tried both of the eq's on the amp and the 1880 but it still sounds muffled a little, i also record are lead guitar on a different amp and is sounds good....(iam using an sm57 on both amps...i don't get it

Also...why can't i use the mid eq on my 1880

You can either have two band eq on all the channels(input and output) or three band on either.
In your manual it will have the settings.
